The first generation of Chrysler Sebring convertible which was launched in the year 1996 was unique and did not possess the same features as the other Chrysler models.

Thus it did not share features such as the Dodge or Plymouth which are common to most of the Chrysler vehicles. The second generation vehicles came into being from the year 2001. They were redesigned with sheet metal exactly like that of Sedan. There were little similarities between Coupe's and Chrysler's convertible vehicles especially on the front fascia and the interior of the vehicles.

The underlying shell of the second generation is also different from the one which had been developed in the first generation. Styling of the nose of the vehicle was also slightly modified so as to give it a better look. The third generation was produced from the year 2008 and it is still in production to date. This generation had massive changes. The dashboard was redesigned. It is also comes in a hard top as well as a soft top which are retractable. The styling also incorporated such features as stake lines of the hood. The engines were also restructured. It now uses 2.4 V4 as well as 3.5 V6 engines. The convertible top can be turned into a trunk which has a cover. It is also installed with a luggage compartment which is located at the top of this vehicle.
